This is my approach.. walking beside you - whatever you are experiencing. I believe in being non directive, accepting you for who you are.
I want to help people. Having seen the power counselling has had for me - I wanted to offer this to others. Being non judgmental, accepting and empathetic are key aspects of my approach.
I bring along with my skills life experiences. As a registered nurse, I have a wealth of experience, which I find is invaluable with clients.
I work with a variety of individuals - whether you have long term health conditions, carer burnout, anxiety, stress or relationship issues - I can help.

It is an act of bravery to feel your feelings
Whether you are taking your first step into counselling, or revisiting it at a time of need, I am here to help. Just by coming to this page, you have already taken the first step.
Therapy can help you to understand your thoughts and feelings. Developing healthier ways of coping with them. It's often hard to understand how you feel. Sometimes you may not even know. This can be one of the reasons people seek counselling. To better understand themselves and what they are going through. Counselling is an investment in yourself and an investment in your future well-being and happiness.
I offer a non judgmental, empathic approach. Treating you as an individual person, listening to what is troubling you. This is the basis of person-centered theory. As a counsellor I will listen and guide you. Bringing your attention to any themes I am noticing in our work together. Once in your awareness, this is then something you can chose to work on or not. I am non directional, enabling my clients to have complete autonomy.
During our sessions together I walk alongside you, helping you through whatever it is you may be experiencing.

Taking the step into counselling is huge.. there are often many questions we ask ourselves prior to this. I have answered a few common ones below

What happens if I contact you ?
Once you contact me, I will email back to arrange a free 15 minute zoom session. This gives us the chance to get to know one another, and see if we would like to work together.

What is therapy like ?
If you have never done counselling before, it may be a little strange to begin with.
Therapy is about you, and what you would like to talk about. I will sit and guide you through feelings and thoughts that may be coming up for you. Our sessions are non judgmental, confidential and empathic.

What should I say during sessions ?
Whatever comes to mind ! There really is no right or wrong. This is your space to talk about what is troubling you.

What if therapy doesn't work ?
Change can take time.. so many factors can affect this. We will have regular check ins to see how you are feeling about your progress. There are many different approaches to therapy and one size certainly does not fit all !

Life coaching
Life coaching is available.
Either this can be offered as a 1 off 90 minute session, or we can look at several sessions to help you deal with life's challenges.

Mental Health Support
At times life becomes challenging. Whether this is stress, anxiety or low mood, I offer space to empathetically listen.

Health and carer support
I work alongside individuals experiencing long term, life changing illness, and their relatives and carers.
I believe through holistic support, this better equips people for these challenges.

Fostering and adoption support
I support individuals either who have experienced the care system, or are looking to foster and adopt themselves.
I am pleased to announce I am now partnered with the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Offering support to their members in the East Suffolk region. This is a free of charge service to people with MS and their family members in this area.
I have also recently taken on a contract to support those in Buckinghamshire with my coaching service.
